Malvern Science – Hands On, In the Field

 Whether they are gaining project management skills by building Foosball tables in physics class, exploring Black Friar Pond and the surrounding woods for Mr. McCarry's 6th grade Life Sciences or studying how to manipulate temperature by making ice cream from  scratch in chemistry class, Malvern science students benefit from many active learning opportunities in their classes. Malvern Prep Honors Vince Papale, Father and Son Award Winners at Annual Banquet  March 25, 2010At its annual Father-Son Banquet last Tuesday, Malvern Prep honored Philadelphia Eagles legend Vince Papale with its 2010 Fathers’ Club Leadership Award, given each year for commitment to Christian values, for involvement in the community and for leadership in all areas of life. Malvern Eighth-grader Wins Court Tennis Skills Competition March 11, 2010 Malvern eighth-grader Evan McDonnell qualified and competed in the U.S. National Court Tennis Parent/Child Tournament this winter at  The Georgian Court at Georgian Court University in Lakewood, N.J. Although Evan and his mother, Conni didn't make it to the finals, Evan won the Junior Skills competition. This national competition, sanctioned by the U.S. Court Tennis Association and open only to qualifiers and ranked competitors. Court tennis is the original indoor racquet sport from which the modern game of lawn tennis, or tennis, is descended. Court tennis is still played by enthusiasts on 47 existing courts in the United Kingdom, Australia, the United States and France.
Malvern Student Competes at Chester County Spelling Bee March 11, 2010  Eighth-grader Ross Sherman well represented Malvern Prep today at the Chester County Spelling Bee, finishing in a tie for 14th place in the competition, which was held at the Intermediate Unit.READ MORE ... Malvern Preparatory School Honor Roll Second Quarter 2009-2010 Malvern Preparatory School is pleased to announce its Honor Roll students for the first quarter. At the end of each quarter, Malvern Prep recognizes students who are excelling academically. Students attaining Distinguished Honors received a 4.0 G.P.A. or better. First Honors is awarded to students receiving a 3.5 to 3.99 G.P.A., and Second Honors is awarded to students receiving a 3.0 to 3.49 G.P.A. Middle School Academic Awards October 8, 2009 Malvern Preparatory School is pleased to announce its Middle School Awards of General Excellence for the Highest Grade Point Average for the past academic year, 2008-2009. 7th Grade Award Winners Daniel McGlinn, Evan McDonnell, Eric Kaufman, Brandon Parvesse, Michael Higgins and Gregory Miller; and 6th Grade Award Winner Nicholas Algeo.
